A pivotal experience of mine as founder and CEO, inspired the formation of Scott’s Investment Group. Thousands of Americans can relate to experiencing financial hardship, the inability to achieve dreams due to poor credit, and facing poor economic conditions.

"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

Here's My Story:

In 2005, I was seeking to purchase a SUV, but soon discovered my bad credit prevented me from getting the best rates and service. I finally bought the vehicle by working with a “note and tote” auto company – no money down, highest interest rates around, small weekly payments with obnoxious vulture collectors. After realizing how much bad credit can cripple success, I vowed to become a voice for the thousands of Americans living daily in this situation.

I pursued my Masters in Community Development and after extensive research, I received a revelation. I discovered that there is a correlation between bad credit and low socioeconomic status.

I assert that people living in communities with low socioeconomic status, poverty, high crime rate, low educational attainment, and/or poor health typically experience a high probability of having poor credit.

This relationship between socioeconomic factors and poor credit is deeply rooted in communities’ financial illiteracy. Thus, the vision of Scott’s Investment Group was born. I soon discovered that one way to improve communities is by empowering individuals to increase their financial literacy and investor knowledge. I believe that if SIG can foster financial literacy, then individuals can improve their health, increase socioeconomic status, achieve an education, and overall, communities will be safer and economically viable.

My personal experience and ability to overcome challenges provides SIG with a unique opportunity to offer Real Solutions for Real People. As the branch for individuals and small business owners to grow financial literacy, SIG serves as a grapevine to help people bear the fruit of financial success.
